Great shots. The street scenes remind me some of Ecuador and back some good memories. How many mandarinas can you get for a buck down there?
Stay well.

Hey Brian,

Love the blog! As a direct result of your writing I now have a girlfriend who's been raving about how she has to stop eating chicken until she slaughters one herself.

For Electrical Engineering coursework, you probably already know about this resource, but in case you don't most of the materials used at MIT are online and free here: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/ I'm guessing 6.002, 6.101 and 6.111 would be most relevant. You can get labs, problem sets, exams, video lectures, etc.

Hey Dan (Swanton?) !

Thanks for the link and suggestions. I could definitely see Di butchering a chicken!

Brian,

Love the photos and explanations (and sorry for the delayed comment!) Hand holding (has any of that changed with Ebola outbreak?), malaria, the amazing human capacity to carry anything wrapped in cloth, trash, donated t-shirts, rat traps!

Have you read Bill & Melinda Gates' 2014 Annual Letter? It's a mostly happy letter: He believes that by 2035, there will be nearly no poor countries, and maybe Mozambique will be a Mexico City, transforming from destitute levels to mostly middle class. http://www.gatesfoundation.org/Who-We-Are/Resources-and-Media/Annual-Letters-List/Annual-Letter-2014

David and I had Megan and Scott over for dinner last week (we live a block away - go figure), and we had such a great time reminiscing about old times, and talking about you and your travels/work/life philosophy. Just know that even though you're so far away, you aren't far from our conversations and thoughts. :) Can't wait to see you for their wedding in July!
